EAP2 Class
EAP2 class is the hardest class that I have studied in CESL. I always got low grades in EAP2 class. Before I had EAP2 class, I usually went to the Recreation Center five days a week after class. But I just go to the Recreation Center four times now. Every day I just slept 5 hours or less 5 hours and I felt very tired. So you can understand that EAP2 class is the hardest class for me from these situations. I need to read many articles in the Core class and listening exercises are harder than before. I never actually read all the articles from Core class. In writing class, Summary and Response essay is more difficult than before. I need to find an article and finish this essay in 2 days. There are more and more writing assignment in the writing class, such as the argument essay, Synthesis practice and research paper. The novel class is the more relaxing class. Because I don’t have more time to pay attention in the novel class, I seldom read the novel very carefully. So everything is not a good like before. I think I can’t get a good grade in this EAP2 class. I need to reorganize my time to finish all the assignments from different classes.

Chinese Food
I am missing the food of my country. Especially in winter, I want to eat hot pot in the cold weather. American food is different from Chinese food. In the price, I can spend less money to eat in Taiwan than in the U.S. When I came to the U.S., I felt that any kinds of food was every expensive. I need to spend two times the money to eat a meal. In flavor, American food is not spicy but some Chinese food is very spicy. For me I don’t like to eat too spicy food and I can easily accept American food. There are some differences between American food and Chinese food. For vegetables, we usually cook vegetables to be a dish, but Americans love to eat fresh vegetables, like salad. Americans love potato so much and I have eaten several different potato dishes. Like potato salad, fries, sweet potato, and potato chips. We love rice so much and most Chinese people need to eat rice. If we didn’t eat rice for a long time, we will feel something wrong. Beverages are also different. We can find any kinds of food in the convenience store, like oolong tea, green tea, black tea, and flower tea. However, in America we can find many different kinds of soda. Even though I have been in America for 8 months, I have not tried all kinds of soda. Now I miss the food of my country very much; I begin to imagine that I walk in the night market and eat the cheap and delicious Taiwanese snacks.

My Ideal Vacation
If I can travel in different countries and see different cultures, that will be the best vacation. People need to have a vacation after working hard for a long time. I also need a vocation to relax my body and my mind. If I have a short vacation, I will do something that I didn’t do for a long time. Such as I will have enough sleep. I also want to do some exercise and I need to hang out with my best friends. These things will make me relax and have more power when I work. If I have a long vacation, traveling aboad is the best choice. I can imagine that I lay on a golden and beautiful beach and have a cold cocktail. I also live in the luxury hotel and enjoy the best service in the hotel. I also take a walk on the street and visit this city that is different from our native city. Visiting different place will expand my view and make me have different thoughts and experiences. There's an old Chinese saying: "It's better to travel 10,000 miles than to read 10,000 books." Traveling will give me more knowledge and experiences than just reading books.

Take a Vacation in Japan
I want to travel to other different places. The United States is the farthest place I have been. I just traveled to three different countries, like Thailand, America, and Hong Kong. Even though Japan is very close to Taiwan and a lot of my friends have been there, I have never been there. If I have time and money, I want to visit Japan. I would like to visit the capital city of Japan, Tokyo. I want to stand on top of Mt. Fuji to see the skyline of Tokyo in the distance. I would like to wear the traditional Japanese clothes – Kimono. I think it would be nice when I wear the kimono. Hokkaido is also a good place that I want to go. I start to imagine that I will put myself into a hot spring, drink some wine, and eat fresh seafood. I also want to see the beautiful snow scenes. It must be very nice. I think if I take a trip to Japan, it will be a memorable travel.

New Technology in the Future
Technology makes the world more convenient. We can see a lot of new technological things appearing in the science-fiction movies. Cars can fly in the air and we can live on the other planets. I am looking forward to new types of transportation. Petroleum will be gone in fifty years. We need to find new power for cars. I think fuel cells will be the future power for cars. Scientists have successfully made fuel cells, but fuel cells are still too huge and the energy is not enough for a car. Some day fuel cells will be like the development of the computer. The size will be smaller and smaller than the initial form. We will not worry about the price of gas, and we also won’t make exhaust gas to pollute the air. Global warming will not get worse and worse. So the transportation in the movies is not a dream. In the future, we will have the same cars that fly in the sky.

The Important Chinese Holiday in Fall
In Taiwan there are three most important festivals in the whole year, such as the Chinese New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival, and the Mid-Autumn Festival. We have a reunion in the Mid-Autumn Festival. The special food we have to eat is moon cakes and pomelo (or shaddock). When is the Mid-Autumn Festival? It is on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month. The moon will be a full moon. Currently, families will find an outdoor place to have a BBQ and hang out with each other. We enjoy the glorious full moon and have good food with our family members. After BBQ, we eat moon cakes and pomelos. The government will have a beautiful firework show that night. That night will be a beautiful night because we can get together with our family, have good food and amazing fireworks under a bright full moon. In this busy society, we don’t have time to relax and hang out with family. We all cherish this festival in the fall season. This is an important day for Chinese people.

Technology and Our Life
In this modern century, new technology brings us convenience; we can talk with our friends at any time and any place by using cell phone. We can record our special life by using video cams. Internet is also very convenient in this century. We can communicate with our friends by email and instant massage. Chat rooms on the internet are also another way to make friends; however, new technology also brings some problems in our daily life.
Cell phones are very convenient for us but they also bother us. People can use cell phones anywhere. When we want to have a quiet place, cell phones always ring in this quiet place. For example, when we watch a movie in the movie theater, cell phones always drive us crazy when we want to pay attention to the movie. Chatting on the internet is very popular in our age. There are also dangerous crimes from the chat room. Because people use nicknames in the chat room when they talk with strangers, something bad will happen when they go out to see each other. So new technology can be good or can be bad. We have to keep the positive side and prevent the negative side. New technology must become our good friends.

The Influence of Technology in the Daily Life
In this modern time there are many technological inventions that you use every day. I think that computers and cell phones are influencing your life every day. I had my first computer when I went to university. Until now I use computer every day and a computer is a part of my daily life. I can’t leave the computer for a long time; otherwise, I will feel something is wrong. I also can’t leave my cell phone for one day, because I am afraid that I will miss someone who needs to contact me. These two inventions are very important for my daily life.
Computers also are very important for everyone because everything requires us to use computer, such as a supermarket, universities, all kinds of companies, and any kind of stores. Computers make them more officious in their work and help them make more money. Cell phones also change habits of connecting with other people. People can walk and talk to their friends at the same time. They also can connect with other people anyplace. So these two technological productions are very important for everybody. They influence people so much in daily life.
