I have taken EAP2 class twice, but I still think that the research paper in writing class and the listening comprehension in core class are hard for me. Actually, I tried to find articles that support my opinion, but there are no good articles for me. I read many articles because I wanted to find fitted articles with my opinion. Finally, I found a few articles, so I can’t use many quotes and paraphrases. I think that finding appropriate articles is the hardest thing in the research paper. By the way, in core class, I’m suffering from listening comprehension because it is too hard for me. I know I need more practice to have good listening skill, but it needs more time. I want to listen well in a short time. This is why I feel listening comprehension is hard. As a result, I’m thankful for those classes’ teachers teaching because they are very helpful to improve my English skills. Also, I will practice those skills continually if I graduate CESL. I think I should do well with those skills when I study in the University.

Abstract
In this paper, the topic is protecting polar bears from global warming and humans. It mentions that the government should try to save polar bears with many counter-plans. There are three countermeasures to support my argument. The first thing is that reducing greenhouse effect is necessary for polar bears’ haunt. The next thing is that the government has to make a polar bears’ shelter, and the last thing is that prohibiting human’s rash development policy is a vital element.

Fluency Exercise #7 Towns
Carbondale is very different from my hometown. Seoul is not only my hometown but also capital of S.Korea. There are about 10 million people in Seoul, even if its size is not big, but Carbondale looks like countryside. Also, quality of life is very different. For example, Seoul has many restaurant, entertainments, cultural places, economy buildings, and universities. Carbondale also has a good university, but there is nothing else. However, Carbondale has a good environment and many facilities for handicapped people. My town needs that because it has air pollution because of many people and cars, and my town is in shortage of facilities for handicapped people. Finally, both towns have many different things, especially population, buildings, environment, prices, and size. Nevertheless, there is one similar thing. It is kindness. Both towns' people are very kind. Although there are too many different things, I like Carbondale as well as my hometown.

Fluency Exercise #6 Vacation
If I have a problem where I go, I would like to go to the islands, especially Fiji and Hawaii. I like calm places and don't like many people, so this choice must be good for me. First, when I arrive on the island, I will look for a great hotel, because a great hotel will give me many good entertainments. Although the price is expensive, I will go to a good hotel. Next, I'm going to go swimming. Usually, those countries' beaches have many coral reefs, so the sea is very clean and there are no waves. It's very nice for swimming. Then, I will go fish. Actually, I don't like fish, but I want to go fishing in those countries because there are many wonderful fish. If I'm in Hawaii, I will go shopping. Actually, before when I went to Hawaii, there were many shopping malls and the prices were so cheap. Also, I will watch traditional shows. After I finish my tour, I will go back to my hotel. Then I will go to the casino if the hotel that I stay at has a casino. If I have enough time to enjoy the vacation, I'll stay there continually.

Fluency Exercise #5 Vacation
I want to go to Switzerland and New York if I have enough money to go there, because I heard that Switzerland has many beautiful cities and New York has many shopping malls. First, I want to take a train when I go to Switzerland because my friend said it's wonderful. Then, I'm going to go to many beautiful hotels and take a rest because hotels in Switzerland are very famous. Next, I'm going to go to New York after I finish my first vacation. I wish to see the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. Also, I want to feel downtown life. I think that downtown is very crowded and complicated, but I'm interested in downtown. While I'm downtown, I'm going to go to many shopping malls. Also, there are many of my friends there, so I will meet them and play together. Finally, I will also go to a casino. Actually, I have never been there, so I hope to go there with my friends. Then, I want to feel Switzerland and New York's Christmas. I think that both of them have many festivals to enjoy during their Christmas. If I have more money, I will go to all over the world except the North Pole and South Pole.

Fluency Exercise #4 Technology
In the future, we will study and invent new technology continuously, because we have limited resources. For example, now we are in a shortage of resources such as water and oil. I look forward to make a method to solve this situation. First, if we invent a machine that changes dirty water to clean water with less cost, we can get infinite water. Then, it will also be helpful for less developed countries because there are many disease problems due to scarcity of water. Next, I think we are going to make many machines that don't need much resource. Actually, oil has disappeared in decades, so I want to see a car that moves without oil and without so much energy. At that time, we can make a flying car. Flying cars would be helpful for limited land and saving time. If this car will be popular, our life quality would go up rapidly. For instance, we can go anywhere we have a mind to go. Clearly, we make many inventions and innovations and those change our life style for the better.

Fluency Ex #3
My country is South Korea. There is a big holiday in fall similar to Thanksgiving day in the U.S. It is called "Chu-sok" in Korea. It symbolizes thanks for the harvest. During this holiday, first, we usually hang out with all of our relatives and play traditional games. A tug-of-war is one of the traditional games. In this game, people pull a rope from each side. However, today people usually just hang out with relatives and talk a lot. Next, we prepare special food for ancestor-memorial service but we actually eat all of the food. These foods are very delicious because there are many tradtional foods. "Songpyun" is one of the traditional foods. It is made up of rice. Finally, many people visit their family graves at that time. When they go to their family grave, they bow and set the table for their ancestors.

Technology (Fluency Exercise #2)
In these days, there are many kinds of communications technology such as chat and cell phones. Those technologies not only make our life more convenient but also save time. However, it also brings big social problems, especially for people who don't have to hang out with other people. There is also the anonymity of being online. First, people can be alone in their houses if they use many communication technologies. Actually, they enjoy their life even if they don't meet other people, such as friends. It's very dangerous for their personality because it can cause a mental disease, so we shouldn't use communication technology every time. Second, online, anonymity is a huge problem because it allows someone to tell slander easily. For example, in my country, anonymous people damage many entertainers because they make a rumor online. Because of those problems, we have to make a new communication technology with consideration. For instance, a display phone is better than cell phone and chat but it's not sufficient. We need to try to make something that makes people hang out with each other. Also, the government should encourage companies that make communication technology to make new technology.

Environment.. Exercise#1
In my country, there are many environmental problems such as air pollution and water pollution. First, the air pollution is serious in my country. Actually, the air is very dirty because of air conditioners and many cars in the city. Then, in the countryside, air is also dirty because of much companies' smoke. Second, we have water pollution. We can't drink normal water in the countryside. We have to buy water to drink or buy a machine that changes the water condition to better. Because of these problems, the government tries to solve these problems every day. For example, the government encourages citizens to recycle their products and makes laws to reduce the use of personal cars. Then, people also try to help these problems. For instance, they separate their waste and throw it away. If we don't try to solve that, we're going to get many big problems. Also, it will affect people's health later. Thus, we have to think about making a good environment.
