Protection of Sea Otters

Abstract
This paper argues that people should consider the decrease in the population of sea otters. The exact reasons why sea otters are gone have not been discovered. This paper claims that people should strive to protect sea otters from the environmental problems for four reasons. First, the reasons which cause decrease in the population of sea otters can also cause other problems of the ecosystem. The second is that it can be warning to people, and the third is that it could prove the ways to solve other environmental problems. Finally, the environment which was already hurt cannot return.

Fluency exercise #5 Surprising Election
There was a presidential election on November 4, 2008. I was surprised because of people’s reaction which I have ever seen. When an elected person was decided, people got out into the street. And then, they shouted and started fireworks to celebrate the new president. And, a party in which people looked crazy continued untill dawn. In addition, I saw people who were crying when they were listening to Obama’s speech on the television. It was my first experience of an election day in the United States of America. Usually, Koreans are not accustomed to expressing their feeling with acting. Although Koreans also celebrate the new president, they never make a party to celebrate that like Americans. That kind of big celebrations are just for their running mates, families, and their friends, not for all people in Korea.

Difference Between Carbondale and Korea
Difference Between Carbondale and Korea
There are many different things between Carbondale and Korea. The biggest thing is the way of driving when drivers meet pedestrians or other cars. Actually, all roads in Korea have light. If the roads in Korea do not have light, many accidents would happen because all roads in cities of Korea are very crowded. On the other hand, small roads in Carbondale do not have light, but just stop signs. But, there are hardly accidents. Furthermore, driving habits in Carbondale are very different from those in Korea. I was surprised when I came to Carbondale for the first time because the drivers concede the road to pedestrians first, although the road does not have a light. In addition, they are likely to concede the crossroad to other drivers. Korean drivers tend to want to go faster than pedestrians when they meet pedestrians on the crossroad. Moreover, walkers also think the driver should go first on the road. It was because they are accustomed to just following the light. Although Carbondale is a very small city, I like Carbondale because of the peaceful atmosphere like this.
