Hospital Emissions (Abstract)

English for academic purposes 2

Katherine Ortegon M.

Abstract

The topic of this paper is hospital emissions. Hospitals like other organizations are generating pollutants derived from their operation and specifically from their waste treatment systems. In this sense, hospitals are contributing to increasing many respiratory diseases and there is a burgeoning concern about this situation.  This paper argues that hospitals should change their operation and reduce their footprint and there are three ways to achieve it. First, they should develop research projects oriented to develop cleaner technologies; second, integrate the Life Cycle Thinking in their operations and third, rethink their core business with an environmental sight.
